An exceptional result for Horse Weigh’s ambassador, Harry Meade GBR, at Burghley Horse Trials 2025.
The Defender Burghley CCI5*-L took place from 3rd-6th September 2025. The Three Day Event is a comprehensive test of the all round ability of the horse and rider, comprising Dressage, Cross Country and Jumping.
World number one Harry Meade completed an extraordinarily consistent run of CCI5* success and was third with a clear round on Charlotte and Peter Opperman’s 15-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare Cavalier Crystal for the third consecutive year at Burghley.
“Cavalier Crystal’s record represents what five-star eventing is – in other words, it’s quite hard to do. She is a classic example, overlooked at the lower levels, but a gutsy little mare,” said Harry, who was also fourth on Annaghmore Valoner and ninth on Et Hop Du Matz.
Harry really showed his class and backed up his postition, as World number one, by finishing in the top 10 with all three of his rides. Harry uses Horse Weigh as a key element for his pre and post preperation to be able to gain his successes with multiply rides at this level.
Congratulations to Harry, his team and owners for the incredible success at Burghley 2025.
