THE NATIONAL STUD FAIR - NEWMARKET 2001
A very successful exhibition with interest in all models of the Horse Weigh platform for yards ranging from colleges, veterinary practices, racing and stud farms.
The Horse Weigh through-out the day weighed a wide range of horses which included sport horses, stallions and mares.
Weighing of heavy horses successfully done - Horse Weigh platforms have a weight capacity of 1500kg, with an over load capacity 3000kg - i.e. if a horse moves e.g. rearing etc
The Supreme Plus (above) weighing one of the widest and heaviest horses in the world, This Suffolk Punch stallion Golden Grandchild, was born in1994 and is owned by Bryan Gillings, Stowmarket, Suffolk. He weighed in at 1030kg and is the current UK Supreme Champion Suffolk Punch.
Golden Grandchild has not been beaten since a 4-year-old and has therefore won all 5 Royal Shows, and is aptly handled by Ernie Smith. He currently stands at the Eyke Stud, Eyke, Woodbridge, Suffolk,

He was however, later in the day, outweighed by a Suffolk Punch mare - Summerleyton April who was born in 1995 and is in foal to Golden Grandchild. The mare is owned and handled by R Cooke & Sons, Oby, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
Summerleyton April is now the heaviest horse ever to be weighed on the Horse Weigh platform, at a record breaking 1155kg. - click
